[thoughts] tvb sales presentation
Sunday, November 15, 20091:30 PM
《刑警》
Cast: Michael Miu, Felix Wong, Jessica Hsuan

Interesting plot and cast :)

《武偈大師》
Cast: Bosco Wong, Michael Tse, Kate Tsui, Sunny Chan

Not so interested.

《隔離七日情》
Cast: Bobby Au Yeung, Bowie Lam, Sonija Kwok, Myolie wu

Sounds interesting.

《五味人生》
Cast: Roger Kwok, Esther Kwan, Michelle Yim

Probably will be watching this.

《談情說案》
Cast: Raymond Lam, Tavia Yeung, Kenneth Ma, Bernice Liu

I'm anticipating this series more than any other series..FungYi :D And I won't be watching "Growing Through Life", so this is the only confirmed Raymond series I will be watching.

《蒲松齡》
Cast: Steven Ma, Sunny Chan, Linda Chung, Fala Chen

I don't know if I'm going to watch this now :|

《女拳》
Cast: Liu Xuan, Jacky Heung, John Chiang

Not interested. The cast isn't very interesting either.

《冏探查過界》
Cast: Wong He, Linda Chung, Raymond Wong

When I look at the picture on the sales presentation booklet, it reminded me of DIE / DIE Again, but reading the synopsis, it's something different.

《摘星之旅》
Cast: Damian Lau, Cecilia Yip, Raymond Lam, Bosco Wong

Like I said before, I won't be watching it.. I feel so sad since this is a Raymond series -_-

《公主嫁到》
Cast: Charmaine Sheh, Moses Chan, Linda Chung, Fala Chen, Kenneth Ma

so this is the "sequel" to "Beyond"? Charmaine in another comedy, that's awesome :)

《法證先鋒III》
Cast: Kevin Cheng, Raymond Cho, Mandy Cho

How could they have a sequel without Tim sir and Madam Leung?

《巾幗梟雄之義海豪情》
Cast: Sheren Tang, Wayne Lai

Rosy Business 2, of course I'll watch it.

《讀心神探》
Cast: Bowie Lam, Bosco Wong, Aimee Chan
Another Aimee and Bosco series? Did they "borrow" the synopsis from "Lie To Me"? Haha, it's like a duplicate of it..even though I don't watch "Lie to Me",and have only watched the commercial on TV, the synopsis is too similar to it.

《老蘭、士林、徐家匯》
Cast: Fala Chen, Maggie Siu, Natalie Tong
Oh no. This sounds like another version of "The Stew of Life", except it's focussed on three girls from different parts of China. :/

《團圓》
Cast: Roger Kwok, Ron Ng, Kate Tsui

Another family drama? Plot seems like "Born Rich" except, without the grand cast and bank.

《秋決》
Cast: Liza Wang, Christine Ng, Joe Ma

《鷹狼傳奇》
Cast: Kevin Cheng, Tavia Yeung, Chung King Fai, Michelle Yim

I've commented on this @ SFY Forums. I'll just copy and paste.. when I first heard of the title, I was like "OMG they're filming something about werewolves!" But then reading the plot.. UGH, I bet that if TVB's going to film this, they'll make Kevin look cool again (just like Burning Flames and Beyond).

《對不起,我愛你》
Cast: Louise Lee, Bosco Wong, Aimee Chan, Elliot Yue

What a title for a series, huh? Oh and another Bosco/Aimee series.

TVB Anniversary Picks

BEST ACTOR

I don't think anyone else deserves it more than "Chai Kau". I'm kinda surprised to see Bosco nominated in this category, while Aimee is nominated as "Best Supporting Actress". They both had the same amount of screen time, didn't they? I gave up on "A Bride for a Ride," since it was too childish for me (and it wasn't really funny).

BEST ACTRESS

I was going back and forth between Tavia and Sheren, until I decided to choose Sheren, but then I felt kinda bad as a Tavia fan, so I made another TVB account and voted for Tavia XD If Louise Lee is nominated for Best Actress, Fala and Christine should be nominated in this category as well. I watched all 30 episodes of The Stew of Life and Fala and Christine have the same amount of screen time (although I think Fala have more by a little bit).

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR

Yeah, Laughing Gor would definately take this award home (unless he's taking the most favorite male character award). Lee Kwok Lun as Ma Yun Ji > Michael Tse as Laughing Gor. I wouldn't mind Raymond Wong or Pierre Ngo getting the award either, but their chances are pretty slim.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS

I want all the actress in "Beyond" to win! But I vote for Susan and Selena. What sucks the most is that Selena isn't nominated for Most Improved Actress. She would've gotten the award for sure, but TVB probably doesn't want to give it to someone who isn't attending the award ceremony and so nominated her here, where her chances are slimmer. It's surprising to see Elanne Kong here. E.U. is her one and only series. Linda has a very slim chance too. I don't think they stands a chance with all the other veterans.

MOST FAVORITE MALE CHARACTER

Even though I don't think Dayo will win this, he is MY most favorite male character.

MOST FAVORITE FEMALE CHARACTER

Lam Miu Miu > Lau Sam Ho. I have a feeling Tavia would win this though. You know what would be nice? If Raymond presented the award to Tavia, if she wins it. Hahah :p

MOST IMPROVED MALE ARTISTE

I voted for Pierre. I only watched 1 Johnson series this year, and he wasn't even a supporting actor, he was more like a guest star. I watched 2/3 of Raymond Wong's series, but I just like Pierre more.

MOST IMPROVED FEMALE ARTISTE

This category is VERY disappointing. When I was reading the nominations without the pictures, I had absolutely no idea who Catherine Chow is (is that her name?) and then I found out that she was in The Gem of Life (I tried extra hard to think of her character). Like I said before, I gave up on "A Bride for A Ride" so I don't know about her character there. Queenie Chu is...ehh. Even though I like Koni, I don't think she's going to get the award. Which leaves Aimee and Sharon. There was a short time when I really liked Aimee, but then it died down because of Fala and Tavia haha. She still needs to improve on her Cantonese. I wish Selena was nominated here -_- but since she's not, I chose Sharon.

BEST SERIES

Love it.

TVB.com Popular Artiste

Of course, without Yoyo and Raymond nominated, Tavia would win. But it sucks that Raymond isn't nominated here. Some people don't have blogs, but they're still nominated. Just because no Raymond series aired this year, it doesn't mean he's not popular.. he just had a concert and they even set up a website for it. -_- You know what would be awesome? If Raymond presented both the most favorite female award and tvb.com popular artiste award to Tavia. Hahahah

back from hiatus.
11:55 AM
I thought I'd be on hiatus for 2-3 weeks, but now I realize that it's been over a month since I've blogged. Since TVB's anniversary is near, I thought I'd get back to blogging, since there will be something to blog about :D

[Thoughts] In the Chamber of Bliss
Saturday, October 10, 20096:52 PM
I knew I was going to watch this series because my dad will probably rent it. I wasn't so interested in the series when the synopsis came out, but I did get interested after watching episode 1-3. However, it got a bit boring and confusing. I'm on episode 14, and realized that the series is 20 episodes long. I wonder how Kenneth falls for Kathy when the main focus right now is battling "Yuen Sai Hoi".

Pros:
  • The theme song. My mom loves the theme song so much. I like it too, even though it's a pretty sad song.

Cons:
  • Toby Leung. Don't like her character. Her acting is still "ehh".

  • The relationships. I got confused and wondered if I missed some parts (maybe I did), but I really don't know how the characters started liking each other. For instance, Toby and Kenneth. I don't know when Toby fell in love with Kenneth. For some reason, I think all the relationships are rushed, or under-developed. There's also Angela Tong and Dominic Lam. I feel no love between the two.

A very short post because I'm not very intothe series and I don't really have anything to say about it. Sadly, not my type of series.

Fala @ The Stew of Life
Friday, October 2, 20093:52 PM
I was over at the Selena Fansource forum today and then found out that the HK audiences are (yet again) complaining... I get curious to why they would complain and would expect something really bad, but then when I watch it, it's really no big deal (i.e., the ghost scene from Love Exchange).

So now they're complaining about The Stew of Life. To make the story short, they're complaining because Fala revealed her bra for more than 30 seconds while changing her clothes in the series. I didn't watch up to that part yet, so I have no idea how "bad" it would be. But then looking at the picture from the news article, it isn't too bad.

I can't believe this would become a "hot topic" online. I remember Fala wore a bikini in "The Family Link" and "Heart of Greed", but no one complained. This time, she's wearing a bra and everyone's complaining?

"That is ridiculous! Before they already had sex in the car scenes and now they're doing this! This scene does not need an explanation, it is obviously done intentionally to increase the ratings. Kids who watches this need to wash their eyes after!"

-a complainer

Well obviously, they never watched any overseas movies / series. If they did, they'd probably STOP complaining about Fala, because it's not a big deal. If they can't even take this, I wonder how they'll take Fala's role in her new series as a pole dancer.

It's ridiculous.

Beyond the Realm of Conscience
Monday, September 28, 20093:23 PM
Imperial Household Bureau is responsible for managing and directing all household services to the Emperor and the Imperial family in Tong Dynasty. It is comprised of four departments, namely Jewels, Attire, Food and Furnishings. LAU SAM HO (Charmaine Sheh) and YIU KAM LING (Tavia Yeung) are introduced into the bureau in their tender age and brought up in the disciplines of the palace. The two girls are diligent. YUEN TSUI WAN (Susanna Kwan), Head of the Jewels, and CHUNG SUET HA (Michelle Yim), Head of the Attire, are both very fond of HO for she is a kind-hearted young girl. Soon, they start fighting for the fellowship of HO.

HO always remembers her mother's words left to her before she passed away, that she was told, 'Doing good deeds, Speaking good words, Showing goodwill'. She lives her life of being gracious and kind-hearted in the palace. On the other hand, LING believes her survival in palace is achieved through cruel and calculating tactics. She cheats and schemes her way to the top and finally becomes the concubine. Though she realizes that HO has fallen in love with the chess master KO HIN YEUNG (Kevin Cheng), her jealousy still arouses by HO's attraction to the Emperor LEE YI (Moses Chan). Fearing that she is losing power, she ruthlessly makes up a false allegation against HO for murdering the Empress (Mary Hon) and condemns her to death. No matter how clever she is to scheme, things do not go the way she planned. By using a strong comparison of the two distinctive characters, HO and LING, the message of the drama is that "benevolence" is the only way to gain final victory.

-

I had a dream about Tavia in BTROC this morning (approximately 6am - I can remember the time because I kept an eye on the clock, I had to wake up at 6:40am - also was dozing hahaha). Premiering October 18th...Isn't that a Sunday? So if HK is airing it on a Sunday, I get to watch it on a Sunday too. That's great. Oh I can't wait for it :D

Super Girl
Friday, September 25, 20093:46 PM

Track List:
  1. Super Girl
  2. Blue Tomorrow
  3. Confession
  4. Only U
  5. You & Me
To be honest, I don't really LOVE the entire album. But I do like number 1, 2 and 4. Track 1 is probably my favorite track, followed by "Blue Tomorrow" and then "Only U". My least favorite track would probably be "You & Me". It reminds me of one of the tracks (that I don't really like) in SJ-M's first album.

Korean Version:
  1. Super Girl
  2. Blue Tomorrow
I actually LMAO-ed at the lyrics for the Korean version of Super Girl.
DONGHAE: He is not Superman He must be mamaboy
To me, the Korean version of Super Girl sounds weird (my cousin prefers the Korean version more. Such a Kpop fanatic). I prefer Blue Tomorrow in Chinese just a little teeny weeny bit more than in Korean, just because I understand it. But I seriously love Blue Tomorrow
